These genetically modified plants were created by Dr. Omri Amirav-Drory in the hopes that one day plants would be able to light up the streets without the expenses of electricity. Dr. Jillian Jaspers, with the help of corporate funding, perfected these plants by developing the capability for them to not only generate light, but to share that light as an energy source to be used for photosynthesis by other plants. These and many more GMOs can now exist in a self-supporting ecosystem.
